Chester graduate shortlisted for international award

A recent graduate from the University of Chester has been selected as a Global Creative Graduate Showcase 2024 finalist.

This global competition recognises the finest new players in art and design. Final-year projects from over 5,000 graduating students were entered into the competition, which is split over four categories.

A graduate of the interior design BA honours programme, Abbie Beddows was selected as a finalist for the category of Product, Architecture and Interiors for her work on the interior design of the Aroma Fragrance store. The store allows customers to create bespoke scents of their own.

Abbie’s design was inspired by how fragrances move through air, and offers a customised experience, with it also incorporating digital and eco-friendly aspects.

The BA honours interior design programme leader at the university, Lynne Bell, said that everyone was delighted at Abbie making the shortlist for the award, adding:

“She has excelled in her studies, and her final degree project is outstanding. To be chosen as a finalist by industry leaders from thousands of entries worldwide is a huge achievement, showing her work is world-class and that she is one-to-watch in design. We wish Abbie the best of luck.”
