Chester graduate to put on fashion show

A recent graduate of the University of Chester has announced that she will be hosting a fashion show at the prestigious Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.

Alexandra Novacki graduated from the university last year. Her Furious Creatures collection, which was successfully launched at Chester Cathedral, was her graduation project. She has collaborated with James Martin and had her work on show at the Cannes Film Festival.

At the 2022 Northern Fashion Week, she was nominated as an Emerging British Womenswear Designer. Her ground-breaking designs have been showcased in magazines like Schön! Switzerland and Swank, as well as on Bond Street. Her upcoming collection was inspired by her upbringing in the vibrant colours and natural beauty of the Peak District.

Novacki said she wanted to continue developing a meaningful Northern runway and high fashion scene by taking the performance and drama to a new level, adding:

“It feels like a huge milestone to reach this show, as so many designers come and go after their debut runways, so it’s a huge step and hugely reassuring to know that I’ve stepped up to the mark and raised the bar.”

The Couture Runway will take place on Saturday, October 5, and feature emerging designers. Over 240 guests are expected to attend, including some well-known names from the fashion industry.

If post-graduation success is still a distant dream because you’re still studying, you may be in need of student accommodation. Fortunately, Chester has ample student accommodation in Hoole near the Kingsway Creative Campus.
