Chester ranked fourth in the UK for nightlife

While Chester may be best known for its popular zoo and its Roman architecture, it also has one of the best nightlife scenes in the country according to new research from BonusFinder.co.uk.

Chester ranked fourth in the study with a score of 9.01 out of 10 thanks to its affordable drinks, high hotel concentration and eclectic nightlife. Chester Racecourse and its lively daytime events also contribute to the city’s vibrancy.

The city scored highly for its high hotel concentration, with 18.01 hotels for every 10,000 residents. With an average price of £4.20, it also has one of the cheapest pints in the country. Nevertheless, Brighton and Hove and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne beat it to the first and second places, respectively. Perhaps surprisingly, the nation’s capital didn’t do so well, with London rated the lowest in the UK for a night out.

BonusFinder.co.uk’s founding director, Fintan Costello, said the research emphasises:

“…not only the best party destinations but also the diverse factors shaping the UK’s nightlife landscape. From affordability to cultural vibrancy, each city offers a unique experience for party people to explore. The disparities among cities underscore the profound impact of the cost of living crisis on our nightlife economy.”
