Entrepreneurial students meet Apprentice star

Students from the Business School at the University of Chester have met with a former contestant from the hit BBC show The Apprentice as part of a trip to Edinburgh.

Chester Business School has developed the Enterprise Development Programme together with Santander Universities and the Venture Programme at Chester, which encourages students to develop an entrepreneurial skillset. The aim is to provide the insights and tools that nascent entrepreneurs will need to establish and successfully develop their future ventures.

The participants had already come up with a diverse range of business plans, and they took advantage of the trip to gain experience and network.

The trip took place over four days and involved a workshop centred around design thinking, a visit to Edinburgh castle, a workshop led by Chester alumnus and former Apprentice contestant Lewis Ellis, and a session with PivotLab Ltd. on market research.

Cheryl Sørensen, a lecturer at Chester Business School, said:

“All the students pushed themselves out of their comfort zones, and immersed themselves in what it takes to be an entrepreneur. We are extremely proud of what each student achieved in such a short space of time. Stay tuned as these budding entrepreneurs step further out of their comfort zones…”

The University of Chester offers a diverse range of courses that attracts students with varying interests.
