King King, a popular British band specialising in blues rock, is set to provide a memorable evening of entertainment at The Live Rooms this month.
Along with fellow band member Lindsay Coulson, guitarist and lead vocalist Alan Nimmo, formerly of the Nimmo Brothers, founded the band in 2008. They love playing at the more intimate local venues, and they have been praised for their stage presence. Nimmo said about this:
“What I love about playing in these venues is the connection between me and the audience! We can really build the atmosphere and excitement to make it a great night for everyone!”
Nimmo always performs with his signature tartan kilt. Over the years, various talented musicians have joined the band. These include fellow Scots Andrew Scott and Zander Greenshields on drums and bass in the rhythm section and keyboard player Jonny Dykes. Alan Nimmo’s brother Stevie Nimmo has also recently joined the band to add an extra element with a second guitar and backing vocals.
The Live Rooms can be found in Chester on Station Road, and King King’s show there will start at 7pm on Friday the 11th of October.
The Live Rooms is just part of Chester’s thriving gig scene that provides students with plenty of opportunities to enjoy live music. If you’re studying at the University of Chester and enjoy going to gigs, you can find affordable student accommodation near Chester city centre, so you’ll be close to the action.
