Alexander’s Live has been a much-loved venue for music and comedy in Chester for over 30 years. Bootleg Blondie’s live set there will, of course, be dedicated to the iconic 1970s US band Blondie, who still perform live to this day. Bootleg Blondie is not your typical tribute band, however, with them having played live with iconic drummer Clem Burke and songwriter and bass player Gary Valentine, who were both founding members of Blondie. The band was also acknowledged in the liner notes of “Pollinator”, Blondie’s 11th studio album. The band have also performed at CBGB, the famous music club in Manhattan.
More than 40 years after Blondie released its third studio album “Parallel Lines”, the band teamed up with Clem Burke in 2019 for two tours. They toured under the name CBBB, which was short for Clem Burke and Bootleg Blondie, and experienced press and radio coverage, enthusiastic reviews, and capacity crowds. They performed to over 7,000 people while travelling some 5,000 miles and recorded the original single “Enigma Soho Au Go Go” to go with the shows.
The performance will take place on Saturday, July 20 with tickets being priced at £17.60.
